In Path of Exile's Mirage expansion (Patch 3.28), Hallowing Flame is a new offensive debuff primarily designed for team and minion-based gameplay.
Hallowing Flame
Hallowing Flame is a debuff that causes the next attack to hit the affected target to gain 25% of physical damage as extra fire damage and consume Hallowing Flame. Hallowing Flame cannot be consumed by the target that inflicted it, requiring minions or other players to gain extra damage from it.
- Attacks made against enemies affected by Hallowing Flame gain 25% of Physical Damage as extra Fire Damage
- Hallowing Flame is removed once an attack that benifts from this Damage as Extra is successfully made.
- Hallowing Falame lasts for six seconds and cannot benefit the one who inflicted it
Core Mechanics
- Application: Hallowing Flame is applied to enemies, typically through the Hallow Support gem, which allows your melee hits to inflict the debuff.
- The Debuff: It grants the next attack against that target (from an ally, not the one who applied it) 25% of Physical Damage as Extra Fire Damage.
- Consumption: Once an ally hits the target, the Hallowing Flame stack is consumed to provide the damage bonus.
- Duration: Charges last for 6 seconds by default.
Gems
- Hallow Support: 46% increased magnitude of Hallowing Flame inflicted by Supported Skills. Supported Skills inflict Hallowing Flame on Melee Hit
Hallow Support is the main way to enable this for most melee builds, though it specifically does not modify skills used by minions themselves—only the player can apply it to benefit them.
Guardian 3.28
The Guardian class received a specific notable to leverage this mechanic called Marshal of Divinity:
- The Guardian now has an additional 2-point Ascendancy Notable: Marshal of Divinity. This Notable grants Inflict Hallowing Flame on Melee Hit, You can inflict +1 Hallowing Flame on Enemies, and Gain 10% of Physical Damage as Extra Lightning Damage for each of your Hallowing Flames that have been removed by an allied hit recently, up to 80%.

- Replica Gifts from Above: Inflict Hallowing Flame on Hit while on Consecrated Ground
- The Supreme Truth Unique Sceptre no longer grants 20% increased Elemental Damage, and instead now grants Attacks with this Weapon inflict Hallowing Flame on Hit.

- 1 Added Passive Skills is Holy Word
Optimal Use Cases
- Minion Builds: Using skills like Holy Strike or Dominating Blow allows you to apply the debuff rapidly while your minions constantly consume it, maintaining the high extra lightning damage buff for yourself.
- Party Play: In a group, a dedicated "inflictor" can boost the damage of physical-based attackers.
